The healthcare challenge

Helping improve access to effective treatments for people living with HIV in the UK.

The ask

Our client wished to gain insights to support HTA submissions to the Scottish Medical Consortium and the All Wales Medicines Strategy Group by simultaneously engaging key external stakeholders in 2 countries.

The solution

We ran 2 Digital Advisory Boards (DABs) using medCrowd, the instant messenger for health and care, to gather insights.

We recruited 8 expert clinicians in 2 countries and formulated questions to address some discrepancies presented by the HTA submission prior to expert engagement.

We also split the DABs into geographical regions to organise conversations among both expert groups.

The benefit

The DABs reached completion in record time, with all participants answering each question in its entirety. This meant our client was able to update the HTA submission and submit ahead of target deadline. Insights also fed into other strategic objectives in preparations for product launch. By using our medCrowd technology our client was able to significantly reduce costs and carbon emissions relative to conducting traditional advisory boards.
